There are three pretty good grocery stores within a couple of miles and a nice hardware store that we recommend with quite good selections. Make sure to look in all the chest freezers in the grocery stores, there is food in them, and you won’t know it unless you look in.

Also, if you are interested in the local beer (case prices are best), and rum for bahama mamas, the liquor store in Lowe Sound has the best prices.

If you would like to purchase fresh fish from the local Bahamian you can get grouper, conch, lobster, snapper, and hogfish based on availability and season. Contact Rodney Miller at Pleasant Harbor Bonefishing Lodge (down the beach a ways from us) or head to Conch Sound at about 4:30-5:00 to meet the fisherman (ask for Charlie & Arizona) that have just come in and see what the catch of the day is.

If you would like to buy fresh, home-made bread ask Hank (our caretaker), his mother-in-law makes great bread.
